KIN Cafe: Breakfast Plant-Based Paradise
One cold January morning in London, all I wanted was a breakfast burrito. Something with scrambled tofu, avocado, maybe some sweet potato and definitely some cheese. That’s when I stumbled upon KIN Cafe at their little cosy spot in the heart of Fitzrovia! KIN is a proud plant-based cafe sporting options for vegetarians and vegans alike. Offering an all-day menu, evening menu and a specific weekend menu there will always be something that takes your fancy at KIN. KIN are proud to partner with the indigenous Mayni coffee community working in the wild forested areas of Peru, preserving the rainforest. The whole atmosphere inside KIN Cafe is warm and welcoming. In my opinion its the perfect little spot for breakfast any day of the week.
The all-day menu in KIN was the first thing that I looked at as soon as I got in and instantly my eyes spotted the KIN classic ‘Burrito’. Tortilla with sweet potato and kale, grilled peppers, avocado, refried beans, scrambled tofu, vegan cheddar cheese and hot sauce. My god was it delicious. All of the burrito ingredients work seamlessly together creating perfect bites no matter how far through the tortilla you were. It was also the ideal balance of heat with the hot sauce, nothing that will ruin your day but enough that it adds flavour and wakes you up.
We also got the vegan version of the KIN breakfast. Home-style potato hash, fried mushrooms, smashed avocado, spinach, grilled tomato, baked beans, hummus, sourdough toast and scrambled tofu! What more could you ask for!! I’ve stated this multiple times before but there is no better way to start a day than with a full breakfast, especially one that offers this much. Everything is made with fresh ingredients and none of it is ultra-processed meaning you’re not feeling sluggish and bloated after it. The tofu alone is one of the reasons you should go to KIN and get this breakfast, it just falls apart in your mouth. I honestly couldn’t recommend KIN Cafe enough, just make sure that you book a table because this cosy little spot is always filled to the brim with happy customers.
